| We help create a green-rich environment close to home |
| Since starting the landscape
engineering business in 1972, we have been helping create green-rich
environments. We have worked on sites not only in Iwate Prefecture but also in the Tohoku, Kanto and Kansai areas. The knowledge and skills developed
in the forestry businesses are used to create a natural environment for parks,
factory sites, residential areas and roof-top spaces. We aim to contribute to the creation of a green-rich environment in places
close to people and local communities. A part of the tree nursery,
where a total of 500,000 trees of 250 kinds are planted on 40 hectares, is
opened to the public as an arboretum. In
cooperation with other nurseries across the nation, we offer various plants
that meet the needs of customers--from landscaping construction to home
gardening. |

customers with planning and designing |
| In our landscaping programs
for factory sites, parks and other urban sites, we help our customers with
total service --from survey and planning in the early stages to the completion
of the project. Surveys and analyses of
vegetation and soil, as well as disease diagnosis and treatment for trees,
contribute to the creation of the green-rich environment. |
| Waterside
landscaping |

| Through our waterside landscape operation, we use the plants that are grown
with our original techniques at the aquatic nursery in Koiwai, to work
on restoration of the waterside environment. This operation uses aquatic
plants to protect river banks and purify. Using our knowledge of vegetation, we offer
proposals, designs and construction of river projects that maintain and restore
natural features of the river, creation of biotopes that provide habitats for
natural fauna and flora, and restoration and creation of various types of
waterside environments. |
| Rooftop landscaping -Efforts to prevent global warming - |

In recent years, the temperature in every urban area is increasing due
to the heat emitted from human activities. This phenomenon is
called the gheat island phenomenonh and we believe that rooftop landscaping can
create green spots that mitigate it. Koiwai develops, offers and constructs a total rooftop landscaping
system. |
