All the dairy and beef cattle in Koiwai were born right on the farm. Their genetic routes can be traced back for generations. |

| Fresh milk production starts at soil preparation |
 |
In Koiwaifs dairy farming, which has been the main business area of the
farm since 1901, we focus on preparation of the soil and cultivation of
the hay grass. The main feed for our animals is the hay and dent corn that are grown in
the 700-hectare of field on the farm. We
believe this is an essential part of supplying fresh milk with a great taste. |
| Total hygiene management |

The health of Koiwai cows is ensured with the healthy feed (mainly the forage grow in the farm) and the careful management of animals to minimize stress. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
measures are strictly kept in cooperation with theTechnical Research Center. As part of
the hygienic management for raising healthy cows, we are careful to prevent
damage from medicine; antibiotics are not used as a preventive measure. After milking these healthy cows, the fresh
milk is sent directly to the Koiwai Factory of Koiwai Dairy Products Co., Ltd.,
and tasty drinking milk and other dairy products are shipped to market. |

Well matured compost from animal waste and bedding and tree barks
|
Waste from cattle is mixed with poultry waste to produce high quality compost.
This is an effective way to recycle limited resources and to produce superior
hay from well-balanced soil.
